Alberta’s Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Day

Alberta’s Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Day ceremony takes place at the south grounds of the Alberta legislature on the last Sunday of September. This is the same day as the Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Day ceremony in Ottawa.This event is an occasion to remember the police and peace officers who have fallen in the line of duty, and also recognizes families, friends and colleagues who have suffered the devastating loss of a loved one.
