Cst. Daniel Woodall

Constable Woodall was born in England, where he was a member of the Greater Manchester Police before emigrating to Canada and joining the Edmonton Police Service.


Constable Woodall was fatally injured on June 8, 2015, while attempting to arrest a suspect for a Hate Crime complaint. When Constable Woodall and other officers tried to gain entry to the residence, the suspect opened fire through the front door.

 Constable Woodall was hit numerous times and killed. Another officer was also shot during the incident and survived.

​

The suspect eventually set the house ablaze and took his own life. 


Constable Woodall was 35 years old at the time of his death.  He is survived by his wife and two sons.


Constable Daniel Woodall School and Constable Woodall Park are named in his honor.
